28-4179 Producing Recorded Music: Hip Hop Beat Making

Course prepares producing students interested in managing the recording environment associated with the development of prerecorded "beats" in the genre specific to the Hip Hop market. Specifically, through in-class projects students will produce beats; develop and understand genre specific song form; apply basic music theory as a language of communication; understand and utilize varied software associated with the creation of Hip Hop productions.
Additionally, through the evaluation of Hip Hop recordings students will gain an understanding of its history as a musical genre.

28-4178 New Anatomy II

Course continues the concepts of New Anatomy 28-4415 by providing in depth evaluation and analysis of how technology impacts on the Recording Industry. Specifically, students explore the new management tools associated with this new technology to include; new means for music delivery(distribution); An emphasis is placed on gaining a wide understanding of these tools for implementation as a entrepreneur or in an intraprenuerial environment.
