Internships are an integral part of the Arts, Entertainment & Media Management major, bringing theoretical concepts together with real-world experience. In cooperation with leading organizations in the Chicagoland area, qualified students have the opportunity to acquire hands-on field experience, build confidence, and establish contacts which help the student gain a leading edge in the competitive job marketplace. The student becomes more aware of what is involved in his or her chosen career by actually working in a professional organization. The student, faculty advisor, and the sponsoring organization work together to make the internship one of the most important experiences in the student’s college education. Graduate students are required to participate in the internship program. Undergraduate students who are nominated for internships are carefully screened by the AEMMDept. To be eligible, undergraduate students are required to be juniors or seniors with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Internships are supervised by the AEMMDept, as well as by an employer/mentor who is willing to provide experiential education, training, and supervision. Spring 2006 internships are listed below:
